ATI doing better with driver support... ?

Just noticed ATI released another driver update earlier this month. The Radeon 8500 is my first vid card from ATI so I don't know how bad they "used" to be about updates, but does this mean ATI is finally getting smarter?

ATI has never released driver updates as quickly or as often as nvidia but I do think they have improved greatly in this
regard. I've also been relatively pleased with the stability of ATI's drivers for all flavors of MS OS.
