I reformatted same problems, fine for a few minutes then it would muck up.....It was the card. I think the 4.1 overheated it or something, and no it wasn't overclocked. I got it from MWave Hopefully ill be able to get a exchange. I hope i can maybe get the Geforce 5700 or something equivalent to the Ati 9600pro. The only thing is ATI is killing everyone in performance and cost. I've always been about NVIDIA, but I couldn?t deny the perfomance comparisons. Anyways, now I?m stuck with a Geforce 2 MX 400 until i can get it exchanged.... id have to put Tetris on 640x480 to get decent frame rates.

i've have some real issues with the 4.1 drivers. Went back to 3.10 since they where more stable for me.

4.1s have been very solid for me, infact pretty boring with zero crashes, zero lockups and no weird artifacts.

I think it has something to do with 9600pro's. When Call of duty was crashing on me 2 minutes into the game I went to a few forums and found out ALOT of people where having the same problems. That was on 3.8 catalyst, I was still having the same problem all the way to 3.10. The only solution was to roll back to 3.7. Tell you the truth I don?t know if it worked properly with the 4.1 because my card got fried before I could if it worked. However Call of Duty Dawnville demo crashed on my brothers 9800pro.

Know of any Net Nanny-ish software that?s for free and isn?t going to pour on the spyware. Let me know.

Nvidia 5700 or Ati 9600pro?

My Radeon 9700 Pro works fine with the 4.1s but my friends 9600 Pro will BSOD with them. he says it works best with the Omega 3.7s.

Have you tried to use a different graphics card? If you have an old one (non-ATI) laying around, see if you have similar problems

I switched to a geforce 2 mx 400 and i dont think there are any problems. There might be some problems with this one to. Might be some color issues with icons, im not sure though. Im going to put that 9600pro in my other machine to see if its the card or the MB, maybe somthing to do with my power supply. I hope its just the card and all i got to do is exchange it.

So glad I returned the $220 Radeon 9800 and got a $180 GFX5900. Whoohoo! Linksys works good also. ;)

It?s not the video card. I switched the video card to another computer and it works fine, also the same speakers that where working only on 2 channels on my 865pe motherboard now work on the full 4.1 channels on the other pc with a Audigy1 card. I think the MB is dying. Could this be a power supply issue or maybe just a defective MB? When I do get this straightened out I don?t want it to happen again.

ABIT IS7 MB 865pe Chipset 2.4 GHz 800 bus 512mb pc3200 ddr ram ATI 9600pro.
