I'm asking because I want to have a constant 60FPS in UT2004 so I can try out the new AA mode soon to be offered by ATi.

I used to keep the sliders set all the way to Quality, but I moved them left 1 notch yesterday and didn't notice a difference. Should I put them all the way over to Performance?

Performance vs Quality AF makes no difference except in IQ at all really, just lowers your framerate. That said, if you move the texture all the way to the left, some parts of the game look completely horrible.

Keep in mind that you have to have Vsync on as well as a high monitor refresh rate.

I can notice a large difference in quality between "Performance" and "Quality". 2X quality AF looks better than 4x performance AF. Using "quality" mode, you can see the gradual change from fine to blurry. Using "performance" mode, you can see exactly where it goes from fine to blurry, and the result looks horrible.

I can't notice the difference when changing mipmap and texture qualities.

Those sliders are all about the level of filtering done to texture levels within any given game. It has to do with the transitions between textures, such as mipmap levels (the ground has these levels for example) and how good they transition from one detail level to another.

Just try it out and notice the difference. I reccomend 60fps in shooters anyways. Esp fast ones like UT2K4 where a milisecnd can mean life or death.

Yes. On my system, these are the best settings for me:

-no AA
-8XAF (performance)
-textures set to performance (second spot from left)
-truform disabled
-vsync always on
