Anyone know if these fix the strange Prime95 zero-CPU-usage problem that has suddenly popped up in post-4.9 Cats?

Dunno VirtualLarry but I did see one thing in the new drivers that bother me:
They removed the WMV Acceleration checkbox from the Options Tab. At least they did in the Control Panels version of the 4.12 Cats. I wonder why? 😕

That's weird, I don't have any such problems, and I've used the 4.9's, 4.10's and 4.11's.Originally posted by: VirtualLarry

Weird. I ran the stress after I restarted and then uninstalled the 4.11s. Installed 4.12s and ran it. Did it again right now and I still got 85.xx fps. 😕 Heh. Maybe you're CPU limited... my 9500 Pro only gets around 4890 at 3dmark03 compared to your 7100.

85.xx fps? You wouldn't be using Vsynch now would you?

Actually, now I'm not 100% sure if my settings were truly identical before and after.
I say this because when I run ATI Tray Tools after 4.12final, one of the Tweak dialog boxes says that Catalyst AI is enabled and set on Low. But the Tweaks box in the Direct3D menu says that Catalyst AI is off.
In 4.12beta, both fields had the same value.
So, I'm not sure if Catalyst AI is set to the same level now as they were with 4.12beta (which was "Low", the default AI setting since that feature was introduced).
Either way, the drivers seem fine to me... I think you guys are safe to install the non-Catalyst Control Center version...

I was referring to this issue. Please, take a peek? Are you using an AMD or Intel CPU, and what chipset? I'm using an Athlon XP on a Via KT400/8235, and I do see the problem.

Hmm, I don't seem to have anything of the sort, nor that weird HD problem where you say it sounds like it's searching like mad.
I'm on a P4 with HT on an IC7 (875P chipset) with a gig of dual channel DDR and a 74GB Raptor.
When I open one instance of Prime95 it's right where it should be: ~51% CPU usage. When I open two, it maxes out at 100%, just like it should.
Could it possibly be a probem with VIA chipsets?
