Hmmm... I would be concerned (if you have Windows XP at least) that the driver file "ati2mtag.sys" aka: "ati2mtag.sy_" did not get updated by just doing that... Windows File Protection might have prevented it (WFP just overwrites the old file back after). I would be worried you are not getting the benefits of the new drivers. You might check that file in your .../system32/ folder and compare it to the one in the drive installation folder and make sue they are the same.
Just checked them - they are both the same size and both dated 28 Feb 2003. Does not appear to be a problem at all. 🙂

Also if you are connected directly to the internet running XP turn off your router or modem as XP even in safe mode will look for a driver before you get the chance to run Driver Cleaner

On my new build, XP SP1 already integrated, rather my other rig XP and then SP1 applied. It doesn't do that anymore, it lets me cancel the auto driver install.

After extensive testing I've determined that the Catalyst 3.2s are pretty much the same as the Catalyst 3.1s in terms of performance and outstanding issues except the mouse response is much better in NOLF. It's still a bit laggy though.

i went back to 3.1 because of the counterstrike issue.. but on a good note, i got all my XP / Counter Strike refresh problems fixed. so i'll stay on XP now..

there is a way around it.

when you quit, pop up the console and type "quit"
