All I did was download 10.5 and installed on top of the previous driver. Will that be okay or was I supposed to uninstall the old one?

Thats all I ever do and have had no problems the last dozen or so driver releases.

You can do it this way as the installer is "suppose" to uninstall the previous version in the process. But most people go through the uninstall, reboot, install, reboot process.

Can anyone confirm that 48xx series cards have long load times again in BC2? Pretty ridiculous.

Everything is okay here - 4890 and a 4870. No better or worse. Load time is not what I would define as long.

Ok, after the last fiasco I am going to try these drivers. The last 2 people said just install right on top of what is there so that's how I'll try it.

Is there a pretty standard benchmark I can run on Windows 7 that will test the stability/performance. The games I play don't really have a quantifiable benchmark, and I am still getting tearing in DDO, so think I need a driver upgrade. (the tearing is not in the same place and did not occur on my old video card, so I highly doubt its the monitor).

I was hoping for better times consider it still a good amount of wait before getting into the game. Maybe I will try it when I get home but at this point I just dont think they are even trying.
