See above usefull post and take a look at yours.
Who is derailing the thread?
YOU!

I post what I want ,when I want, in the guidelines of this forum.
Good day.
Want to talk about derailing, sunshine? Want me to go pull up all the threads you've disrupted with your anti-ATI rhetoric?

As for posting what you want, I'll bet you won't after enough people complain about you, and I know those complaints are adding up. Ask Wreckage how that worked out for him.

Next member with an off topic post or personal comment gets 1 week off. No joke.
I feel like I have to pass out tissues with all the crying in here.

The long loading times in DX10/11

hey your right ,I never noticed that? I usually have a smoke when waiting for level to load. :D

@ those that may be concerned..
I just checked my overdrive profile with the 10.5's and my dual monitor setup , and I don't seem to have the same issue as the guys in that AMD forum I linked.
So far so good.

Mabe it's just some people with certain cards that are having the problem.
Good luck.

Yeh the 10.3's also fixed the long load time for me on two computers. My desktop with a 5850 and my laptop with a 5870m both went from 30-40 second load times to 5-7 seconds. I actually get to see the count down timer before it lets you into a map now.

I wonder if that issue only affected the HD 5x00 series of cards. I never experienced that issue with my current cards, it played fine with the Cats 10.2, but the 10.3 hotfix brought some nice improvements, specially in Crossfire. I don't see a reason to go to Cats 10.5 yet.

not interested in derailing either skurge - just genuinely confused about what the selective definitions of 'attacks' are here lately.

Let me help you out here. The nanosecond that you redirect your comments from the actual threads "subject matter" in this case new drivers, and focus on the PERSON who made the post instead, is an indication that you wish to engage that member on a personal level. This thread is very tame, but I have to say that your post would be the first one that would receive any moderation seeing how you redirected from subject matter to an individual member, just so you know.

you read it here people - you are hereby given carte blanche by him to post as many ATI shilling threads you want, post in every nvidia driver thread extolling the incredible power of Catalysts, and how Nvidia just shot their load in XXX.## version driver etc etc, mock people with Nv cards but its all ok as long as you dont focus on a PERSON specifically - because thats precisely what certain people who fly under the radar do all the time.

want to give me a 1 week timeout keys? i'll take it, if it even gives you the reason to stop and just THINK for a second how looking the other way when your golden boys threadshit everywhere, are killing these forums.

Observe post #5 in this thread, and I'll see you in a week.

As long as I have to read the constant NV love posts by HM...perhaps you would accept a few suggestions about spelling in your posts.
I realize of course that incorrect spelling comes straight out of the the troll playbook but just FYI.

Now we have to watch Nvidia move farther ahead in performance with there new 256 drivers which are great even in beta form.
"There" as in belongs to them= their.
"Farther" as in....oh forget it:\

It seems the new 10.5's might cause your clocks to run higher 400/1200 instead of my usual 157/300 at idle, when using the overdrive function.

I think this is the way they fixed the flickering problem for some people with dual monitor setups.
It seems they kept the 400/1200 clocks for single monitor setups as well? More power draw = more heat and noise.
If you don't have a problem with the 10.4's, I suggest not upgrading unless you have to.

http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=279&threadid=134073&enterthread=y

Yep when using overdrive I get this....But 400/1300 as I run 950/1300 with overdrive.

Other than that I think I'll just try the drivers out....But I'll just mod my bios for 950/1300 for the 3d clock and disable overdrive.

Hmmm, the 10.5's didn't raise my clocks at idle even overclocked.
I'm at 870, 1315 in 3d but 157, 300 at idle?

Mabe it a 58xx series problem?

Edit: sorry , just seen you haven't tried them yet.

I'm probably going to get banned for this, but I agree with this. Moderation seems to only appear at random and inconsistent intervals. Whenever it does appear, the warnings always miss the real culprits.

Some people here focus on the people who are thread craping, but whenever they address them personally they get a warning. Whereas the guys who are actually disrupting the threads are left alone.

I've only been here about a year, but things have really gone downhill since I joined.

Another who missed post #5.
See you in a week.

Here's some words from former AT troll SiliconDoc,now bringing a happy medium to the video card debates at Xbit.
12.
I see a DRAMATIC CHANGE in the review. A dramatic change from the propaganda against nvidia I have been reading and seeing for a few years now. I LOVE looking at the OTHER cards in any review, since the biased reviewer, who hates nvidia, doesn't pay attention to the data they are letting out, when they have their specific card hatred going on, in this case, against GTX465.
So, the dramatic CHANGE is : THE GTX470 BEATS THE 5870 AND 5850 IN EVERY SINGLE GAME BENCHMARK EXCEPT FOR 1.
THE 470 IS SHOWN TO BE CLEARLY SUPERIOR TO THE 5870.
Thanks for the great review Xbit, thanks for tweaking all those settings so the GTX465 looks bad, WHILE YOU LET OUT OF THE BAG THE TERRIBLE PERFORMANCE OF THE 5870 AND 5850 !
hahahahhahahha
I love it when the biased reviewers blow it so badly !
The only game the 470 doesn't win at is the one after Crysis Warhead. ALL THE REST IT OWNS COMPLETELY! HAHAHAH
It's so great watching the BLOODY WRECKING of the lies for ati that spew out reviews when the author is not paying attention enough to cover up the former lies.
I love it !
Thanks for PROVING to me the ONLY REASONABLE PURCHASE IS THE 470, IT COSTS LESS THAN 5870 AND BEATS THE TAR OUT OF IT !

Anyone else wish to blatantly ignore my warning?
Happy Medium, you are seeming to take delight in this and it is a bit disturbing. You haven't ignored my warning in this thread after I had made it, but let me extend that warning to the rest of the threads in video. You seem to be on a tear to instigate and derail. Not any longer. It kind of ends here. Stay on topic, and do not bait, flame, or get any kind of personal.

I installed them this morning to try them out. Then figured I'd do some benchmarks to see if any improvements. Once I fired up GPU-Z I noticed the 2d clocks of 400/1300. If I disable overdrive the 2d clocks will go back to the standard 157/300.

The long load times are a DX11 thing? Can this be fixed by new drivers? I kind of miss being one of the first to load up in BC2.

It is fixed, you must have catalyst ai on normal or advanced for it to work. If you have ai enabled i dont know what the problem might be.... you running any av software? set the BFBC2 folder in my documents to not be real time scanned, since the game for some reason keep on writing your weapon config there a lot.

Im using 5 series cards and always have to wait for the timer to go down after it loads a new level

I use an Auzentech XTHD sound card hooked up to my receiver via HDMI, because of this I have to extend my desktop onto a virtual 2nd monitor to make the sound from HDMI work.

Is there anyway to make my 5870 downclock to 150/300 when idle? It only goes as low as 400/1200 right now. I know its because of the dual monitor thing, but I'm not really using dual monitors, just a phantom 2nd one.

installed 10.5's last night, afterburner still works fine
and bc2 load times are still good, i don't know if it's just me
but the beta 10.4's had me loading first everytime
with the final 10.4's and now the 10.5's, others are in before me
again lol

probably cuz my pc spec's are kinda out dated now and others are on i5,i7 rigs

i just can't justify building a new rig yet

Care to elaborate? My problem now is that i load the map fast but i have to wait to press "READY" to get into battle. What i mean is that i have to press ready a few times before i actually spawn. Its weird but it is happening.

I will try these driver when i get home.

Thanks

everytime you respawn bc2 writes to your bc2 folder in my documents, if you have any anti virus program it will check those files and that will cause the spawn lag, you should be able to exclude folders that are being scanned in the settings of the av program

I still have this issue even after making sure it wasn't my AV software doing it.

All I did was download 10.5 and installed on top of the previous driver. Will that be okay or was I supposed to uninstall the old one?

Can anyone confirm that 48xx series cards have long load times again in BC2? Pretty ridiculous.
