ATI Card problem

I have a system that was having problems so I wiped the HDD and did a fresh install of XP Pro (SP1), later updated to SP2.

Everything is fine, but I can't get the video card, which previously worked, to work.

It's an ATI Radeon 9200 PCI. I've loaded the original drivers and software from the installation CD, but when I plug the monitor into the card, I get no signal. However, device manager shows the card working. The monitor works fine, since when I plug it into the integrated VGA port everything is fine.

ATI has been less than helpful so far. Does anyone have any ideas?

You may have to disable the onboard video to get ANY other video card to work properly. It would help if you provided more specs for the system.

I agree, this sounds like it's most likely a BIOS/integrated graphics issue. Go into system bios and select PCI video as first choice rather than on-board graphics.

Thanks, guys. I will check out the BIOS settings tonight. Totally logical.

BTW, sorry about the lack of additional info, although since it is a Dell (not mine) who does everything in its power to avoid providing real specs, there's a limit to what I can convey...
