dude, no one said the ps3 will be out in 2007. it's all just speculation.

But does it have sm 3.0?

Buhahahahah!

OP we all know you're an nVidiot so cut the crap.

yup, all new systems (well, maybe not revolution) will have Sm3!!! w00t!!! not only that, but they'll have uber cards in them! w00t!!! if my 6600gt can't run next gen games, at least consoles aren't gonna be $500!

you guys are just so funny 😉

 I also hope that consoles rock, as computers are very pricey

Frankly folks, I think the area where next gen consoles will suffer the most is on the CPU end. Coding for multiple processors just sucks hard. I forsee the CPU hardware bottlenecking the graphics chips.

But that's what you get when you go to IBM for a processor 😀

I thought that the 360 only had 1 proc, but the PS3 has 3, so why would multi-proc issues come up on the 360? Coding for the PS3 will be problamatic i'm sure though

The 360 is a multiCPU console as well. It has a few 3.2ghz processors in it.

My issue with ATI is that before the R300 they never really had too much that was noteworthy. They aquired that from ArtX, and rode the chip for a long time.. now its delays and respins and ATI is being curiously silent.. I'm assuming they messed up the R300 finally by trying to change it. We will see.. and I'm just saying they better not mess up the Xbox360 because Im getting one.

I dont care that its got ATI in it, I'm not biased.. I just want them to put something decent in it.

Its pretty safe to say if the PS3 GPU is going to be great if its based off of the G70. Nvidia did their homework well there.
But according to recent reports the 360 was running a Ruby demo that MIGHT look better than the X800 demo.
I dont like the sound of that personally.. I expect the Xbox GPU to blow away the X800/X850.. so deeming it "comparable" is not good news as the X850 is nothing compared to the G70.. let alone the PS3 RSX chip.
The Rubi and the rest of the demo are very low polygon modes as most of the textures and effects are done with pixel and vertex shaders.

The demo ran smoothly and is comparable if not better to the Rubi demos we saw on X800 and X850 cards.

Not good news, considering the 7800GTX < RSX and X850 < 7800GTX.

So in a year or so we will know if you are right. Actually I have read November, 2005 for the xbox 360. Personally I am of a mixed mind - I dislike microsoft and hate to give Bill more money, but also have little respect for the most of the garbage that sony pumps out. Still I would like a console that is much cheaper than a computer and works better.

Same here. I like paying 300 every 5 years for gaming.. I'm actually going to start again this console gen. But Sony is MIA.

I dont have any personal preference to Sony over MS, I dont care. I want the smartest system. For instance in the Xbox vs PS2 I liked the Xbox more because it had Xbox Live, 4 player support and overall just a smarter rig (like those breakaway controller cords).

I want to go PS3 so I can have access to the whole PS3 back catalog. But I dont like the sound of the PS3 approach, they need to do what MS did.
Put the money in the important parts of the console, CPU, GPU, HDD and BluRay (in Sonys case). Cut the stupid ports that litter the PS3 and the dumb dual DVI stuff. Thats just a waste. But they have illusions of grandeur that someday a console will be more than a console.. I'd like to see the PS3 become MUCH more of a console without any Hard drive!!! Morons.

I mean seriously what are you going to do beyond play games without a hard drive, be some 10 year media device? Right. And they want like $500 or more for this thing too.

Sony has lost their way. Ken Kurtagi (sp?) has said that he wants people to think they "need" this console, so much they are willing to work overtime to get it.
Sure. Maybe a few nerds will think that way. Not mainstream USA. Not me.

I'll pop $300 down on a 360 and have totally comparable graphical capabilities, I dont think (?) that the PS3 will totally demolish the Xbox360 in gaming graphics..
I mean the Cell+RSX looks powerful, but I dont see how its going to totally obliterate the 360s setup either.

But I'm sorely disappointed in what I outlined in my last post about the 360's GPU only doing comparable, maybe better than the Ruby demo on the X800/X850.. not good if the RSX is at least as good as a 7800GTX.. not good at all. Then it will be a wipeout.

Personally on MS/Sony/ATI/NV I dont care, MS cares as much about me as Sony does.. so why would I care about them. I want the best product. If Bill can deliver me a killer console then by all means.. the next billionaire would take my money just as quickly.

I was leaning towards the PS3 but seeing how they had a killer CPU+GPU+Bluray i was sold.. then they cut the HDD.. but leave dual DVI and a plethora of retarded ports.
Oh, and it was a router at one time too! What a waste of money when its got to do this first:
Get itself into peoples homes at affordable prices and have decent games available.
It wont last 10 years, no matter what sony does. Thats too long in technology times. Its going to need a hard drive to be much more than a gaming device anyway.. so they are out of their minds.

Really? Pardon me if I find that hard to believe.

Might as well go shop at Walmart and stock up on Chinese products too while you guys are at it!

So now that you're planning to "pick one of these 360s", how do you feel about becoming "a traitor to your nation"?

😉 p0wned!

vote for lock on this waste of bandwidth. Poster is just posting this so his fellow nvidia zealouts won't make fun of him for buying an Xbox.

Kinda like when someone buys a sh*tbox car and tells everyone about it before he buys it just to see how they re-act.

I write a large post on the RSX, and the 360s GPU and you pick out one line where I say I'm unbiased and put a bunch of quotes from me up.. who cares?
I find it amazing your keeping my quotes, seriously it tells everyone you are here to attack those you disagree with rather than discuss.

What I'm saying about the 360s GPU appears to be true according to the Inquirer.. and the fact the X850<7800GTX and the GTX<RSX is bad news for the Xbox360.
Sorry.

Your comparing the RSX to a X850?

Is the X850 isn't the GPU thats gonna be used in the Xbox.

It's the R600 or R580, one of those, not sure, could be wrong.

Oh, and there is a thing called the search feature.

Try it out some time.

The Xbox 360 GPU is also known as R500/C1/Xenos. R580 and R600 are PC parts, AFAIK. R600 should be the first unified PC GPU (likely from either ATI or nVidia).

Thanks for clearing that up.

Now why is he comparing the RSX to to X850, how is that bad news for the Xbox when the Xbox isn't using the X850 but the R500.

Did you read the Inquirer article or do you just troll? THEY compared the X800 to the Xbox360..

I'm sorry to tell you that ATI might have severely screwed up the Xbox360 if the chip is that weak.

Yes and theyve compared the PS3 to the 7800, so nVidia have seriously screwed up since this RSX is based on a year old GPU!

W00t!

Well, gee! Maybe they made an offhand remark comparing it to the X850 because the guy who wrote the blurb hasn't seen an R520. Besides, he was watching a demo, not doing in-depth testing. It's a little early to saying "that ATI might have severely screwed up the Xbox360 if the chip is that weak."

I heard ati messed up your face southpawuni.
Anyways they don't screw up everything they touch.
They have some d@mn good quality products and for a good while their cards had the best performance for the dollar.
However lately Nvidia is definitely getting the upper hand.
