I got the email also. I originally ordered 2, so I can probably get 2 of these x800xl's over the phone. I'm not really wanting the x800xl since I have an x850xt. So if anyone is interested in mine then just pm me. I would have to order it using my cc and when I get it, I can sell it pretty cheap (little more than $129.99 due to paypal fee, and the shipping costs of them shipping it to me, then me shipping it to whoever wanted it).
 
That is a nice gesture from MC. The X800XL is no slouch, and to get an AIW part for this price is pretty darn nice.

I don't have a copy of the original rebate. But I was able to make one for myself by editing this rebate to look like this cached version of the rebate that was pulled.

I don't have a place to host it so whoever wants it can just pm me and I'll send it to them.
 
If you look you can find the actual rebate floating around online. I found it after about 30 seconds of searching google. I really doubt ATI would honor the $50 rebate per card seeing as how we would have to send in the receipt/invoice and they would see we only bought the card for $129.99.

According to the email:
"This offer shall be limited to one ATI AIW x800xl video card per customer/email
address. Due to the $129.99 price, the current manufacturers rebate will not
apply to this offer/purchase."

I might try doing the rebate, but I really doubt it would work.
 
why wouldn't it work? this was put on a promotion for us.. no where does it say on the rebate that we HAVE to buy it at retail price... fyi this rebate should work.
 
read the rebate though. ATI has the right to refuse the rebate to anyone. I'm betting MC worked out a deal with ATI, and they are getting $50 for every card, and that's how they are able to sell them so low, and then able to say that we are not elligible for the rebate.
 
yeah but the rebate isnt going through ATI.. they are going through the crappy rebate center 🙂 here's hope that they don't catch it hehe.

"ATI reserves the right to deny rebate claims if deemed to be fraudulent and modify the rebate program for clarification purposes."

yes, but read next line down -
"All decisions of ATI relating to this rebate program are final."
I think that gives them final say.
 
So, is this strictly for those with the e-mail? Can you get around it? I am interested in one, but I didn't order the video card in the first place and never received the e-mail. Wait, my conscience is getting in the way a little. Ah, excuse me..., Move!
 
went to fry's to get the case and psu. saw the same card for $260 AFTER the $50 rebate 🙂 this is a great deal if you need AIW capabilities.
 
hmm. on microcenter circular, they are selling AIW x800 xl 256mb pci e for $129.99 . no rebate.. wtf so i guess i didnt get a such good deal?!!
 
you gotta be kidding me man...I just bought an ati 550 pro for a tv tuner for 85 bucks. Now I need a vid card..I should've waited =/
 
I remember the original post for the AIW x1900 and did not bother ordering as it was an obvious mistake and too big to be honored. Then I saw this post and was bummed that I did not try anyway.

Thanks for the update, I ordered one last night and got the confirmation this morning. Don't know why this is available to all now, they must be loosing money.
