I was in microcenter yesterday and saw a few clearance ati 9800pro aiw for $191.83 before tax. What do you guy think?
I was looking for a 9600 aiw on clearance which would make it roughly $100 after rebate but could not find one:(

The 9600 AIW does not have DVI and the 9800 does, if that makes any difference.

I'd say warm.

I bought mine directly from ATI about three months ago for around 179.

OP, I can see why you'd probably want to abandon this thread. You mentioned it was clearance and you probably thought someone would actually be grateful or even just polite for this post but I'm sorry to say, "don't count on it."

You'd thnk you were getting paid to post here.
Keep up the good work.

Definetly a hot find IMO for a 9800AIW card. If you need the AIW features and want a good gaming card, go for that. You most likely won't find a better deal.

yeah microcenter clearances are awesome. they charge a 15% restocking fee when you return opened items, and apparently that 15% goes directly to the next customer who repurchases it.

basically the previous guy partially paid for this AIW 9800pro, which is why you can get such a good deal :)

Hello! You can't compare a 6600GT to an AIW 9800 Pro because they are apples/oranges. Anybody looking at an AIW is looking at the multimedia features, and the 6600GT ain't gottem. Your statement would have been true if he had spotted a plain-old-9800 Pro.

That price is pretty good for a NIB Retail AIW 9800 Pro

I just bought my second for just over that. The tv functionality and extras are top-notch, the 3d performance is still good, and any game out there should be perfectly playable and look good.

For 191 it is a good buy. They're going for 230-250 new on most online sites before shipping.

No it's a good deal now. You just happen to know nothing about video cards.

This one is an All in Wonder. The 6600gt doesn't have a tv tuner. If you don't need one that is OK and other people might want it

This maybe a little late but Newegg has a couple of listings for the ATi AIW 9800Pro on the refurb side. One is posted for $150. The other ones are more expensive. They all claim to be bare bones so I wonder what's the difference amoung them? I have an ATi AIW 9600XT that I use presently. I plan to test the AIW 9800Pro in the same system. The 9600XT has FM where the 9800Pro doesn't but has a DVI interface. The 9600XT supports dual VGA monitors. There's a couple of maps in UT2004 that my system has trouble with and I thought I'd try the 9800. The problem may not be the card but the MB/CPU.

It's a B&M deal so a link is not necessary....
