I just upgraded to an MSI K7T pro & duron 600. I would like to upgrade my video card and like the AIW 128 Pro (32mg). Does anyone have any experience with this combination? Any problems?? Thanks for any help!

i have a duron 700 with a abit kt7. i also have a ATI all in wonder 128 pci video card. it works great but amd doesnt support mpeg1 or mpeg2 like intel cpus do. so you can only record in avi format, but avi format for the ati isnt univerisal. they call it vcr1 and vcr2, so you cant run it on other computers unless they have an ati all in wonder video card.

I am looking into get the same mobo Sid. I have this videocard right now. Great on features, but it doesn't like my SS7 Epox MVP3G5 w/K6-III 450. Damn AGP slot on these boards isn't worth a crap! :|

How do you like that board so far??? I am getting one maybe this next week w/Thunderbird 800.........

I upgraded about a month ago. The switch went fine. Took everything off my Tyan S1590 and moved it over to the MSI K7T Pro. Also picked up an Antec sx830 case - which is great. No problems so far. Getting the Duron on the mb gets a little tricky, was afaid I was going to push something a little too hard. But all went fine.

I tried that driver. Seems to run ok, but I still have lockup issues. I think I have it narrowed down to Nutscrape 4.75 or something in the ATI drivers that doesn't like Nutscrape. Oddly enough, if I have the ATI TV or DVD going, the computer runs fine. But if I run Nutscrape without either of those running, by itself, it locks. WTF ?!?!??! :|

Glad to hear everything went smooth Sid. I may take the plunge when I get paid on friday. Gotta see how many bills come in between now and then though :Q

Cheers :D

P.S. -- Which cooler do you have on your Duron, Sid??

I have a ATI AIW128 Pro also, and I can't get it to do real time MPEG compression, either. I didn't know AMD didn't support MPEG 1&2. I have a Abit KT7-Raid and Duron 700@950. I bought this setup just to do video editing. The VCR 1&2 settings aren't AVI file format? Is there a way of recording in and getting the AVI file format? What's the best way of recording the analog composite video through RCA cables and then getting it to MPEG fromat? Please help. I might want to return this video card. Also, when I play VCD or mpeg out to my TV, the display on the TV is smashed and doesn't cover the full screen. Is there a way to make the TV out display fill the whole screen or am I doomed to watching a smashed display? Any help is much appreciated.

One more thing. Does anyone know if the tuner supports Digital cable? I have analog cable now and the picture is terrible.

Quick update - installed my AIW 128 Pro last night. Went pretty well except when I run the DVD player my system hangs - can't even turn off the machine with the power switch. But everything else seems to work ok. I haven't done any video editing or capture yet, but the TV channels look pretty good on my monitor. Just ran a line into the card from my roof antena, don't have cable. I also have Win DVD installed which works fine, for some reason the ATI DVD player has problems. thanks for the input!!

How is the DVD output quality on TV? I've yet to buy a DVD player for my AIW 128 Pro, but I'm about to jump on one of these $80 Toshiba deals. I still have a problem with a squashed picture on my TV set. I tried to adjust the settings, but it still doesn't fill the whole screen of the TV.

The ATi DVD player just doesn't like to get along with any other players installed on the system. I had PowerDVD installed but had to remove it and reinstall the ATi player to get mine to work. (I have a Rage Fury Pro)

The DVD output on TV is excellent!

thanks Workin and everyone else. I started wondering if having WinDVD might be a problem. I will try uninstalling it and give ATI DVD a try.
