ATI AIW 9800 Pro Spots on screen?

I just got my Radeon All in Wonder 9800 Pro in the mail today and when I start to play video games, the screen gets all of these speckles on it. HOWEVER, the speckels only appear in certain games. If I play Doom 3 there are none, if I play any of the Need For Speed Underground games, the speckles appear clearly across the screen from left to right. Is this bad video memory?

My system:

MSI K8N Neo Platinum
AMD 64 3000+
1GB of DDR ram
Turtle Beach Santacruz soundcard
OCZ Powerstream 420 Power supply

Please help me out. I know for sure tomorrow I will have to contact ATI, but I am hoping it is something else, like nforce drivers that I can fix.

its artifacting, which is usualyl caused by overclocking ram to high. Try some new drivers and see if that doesnt take care of it, but otherwise underclock the ram to see if its just failing to perform at stock speeds or if its bad all together. Eeither way, if its not a driver issue, RMA It.

Damn, I hope that doesn't take long to RMA. I will try to underclock it to see if it works. I think I have the latest ATI drivers from the website, but I wasn't sure if there is a conflict with the nforce chipset driver that I have installed (which I also beleive is the latest)

Well, if you're familiar with Ati Tools, I loaded the program and it's 3D renderer found artifacts and made me aware of them at the stock speeds. Looks like I will be calling ATI or the Sales dept of Allstarshop to see if I can have another one sent to me. This sux. I was so excited to get this card and it has problems. It's going to be a long time too because of the holidays.

same thing happened to me but I got mine from BestBuy, sent it back to ati after a long spat with BB and got a new one pretty quick.

Update: I just read a post on a forum about someone having the same problem with a 9800XT and was offered a replacement by the seller. I'll try my luck tomorrow. till then, goodnight.

Update, I just spoke to Allstarshop.com and they're telling me I have to send the card in for them to test and if they find anything wrong with the card, they will decide what to do. I'm thinking replacement or refund. Regardless, I have been reading up and hearing that the factory heatsink is insufficient so I am going to get a fan to blow cool air into the case and see if that solves it.
