Installed my ATI 9800 Pro AIW card this week. Everything seems to be finally running OK except one thing.

When the AIW is connected to my TV Cable I get some interference which result in the following:
1) Vertical scrolling band ( nearly trans[parent and very slow- but there)
2) My Samsung LCD is limited to a max refresh rate of 60 Hz ( it does run at the rated 75 Hz on other machinnes just great)

In my quest for a solution I uninstalled my Catalyst and installed the new 5.1 Catalyst for W2K. Nice features but no help.

I pulled the cable TV from the AIW and all issues solved. The Samsung 712N is running at 75Hz and there is no scrolling interference on my screen !

OK - I am somewhat happy. Now- any recommendations for how to connect my TV cable to my AIW and not have interference? Anyone else have this problem?

*Have you tried different cables?
*Is there a splitter prior to the AIW connector?
*Are you using a signal booster?
*Did you try plugging the monitor into a different outlet?
*Does 75Hz make any difference over 60Hz on your LCD anyway?

WOW!

I have a 9600 pro with a the same problem...as soon as the s-video connects to the TV (or the card if connected to the TV) I get the vertical scrolling white bar PLUS a loud audible hum through the TV.

Ironically, it's worked fine for more than a year without this problem...and suddenly, it's messed up like this.

I'm going to RMA once I have a replacement card since this problem just appeared recently after months of working perfectly.

I may have found a solution- I plugged my monitor /PC / and TV cable thru a common surge protector.

Read on another forum this suggestion that scrolling lines are often associated with interference with other appliance on different wiring circuits. The solution is toi make sur4e everything is plugged into one common electrical outlet.

Seem to have worked for now- I too was 1/2 inch away from RMA'g my 9800 AIW Pro.
