ATI 9800XT...Catalyst Bug?

I was just curious if there was some type of bug with the ATI Catalyst Drivers (I tried 5.3?, 5.4, 5.6 and 5.7) and on each one, it has my card running at 87c Idle. I dont jump's up to almost 100c under load. I have 2 case fan's in front blowing in, 1 on the side blowing in, 2 in back blowing out, 2 on the PSU, and one pci slot fan that blow's out.

I was just curious if anyone else was experiencing this? Thanks

your card could really be running at that temperature. you should reseat the heatsink and put some AS5 on it and then see what happens.

The Video Card heatsink im asuming?

Also, I dont have any AS5, but I do have Shin-Etsu that was sent with my CPU, would that do?

How old is the card?

Still under warrenty?

I'd RMA it then.

If not, take the HSF off, apply thermal grease on the GPU/mem and reseat it.

make sure the fan on the HS is working too,.

Can you tell me whats the brand name of the card (BBA, Saphire, Powercooler)

It may still be under warrenty.

The Shun-Etsu stuff should work fine, just make sure you know what your doing when applying it.

Before you try to apply it, tell us the brand name of your card.

Dont know, i'd call them up and tell them whats up.

They should have a number you can call on their site..
