Uh, one has the R360 core, one has the R350. Duh. :p

The R360 is the core originally developed for the 9800XT. They tend to overclock a bit better, and have the onboard thermal sensor (although I believe this is only enabled if you softmod your card into a 9800XT). That's about it.

no onboard sensor on either r350 or r360 except for the 256MB versions of r9800 including xt.

The ONLY difference is the r360 is a later "stepping" that handles heat issues better - i.e. can usually o/c better . . . . although the later r350s o/c about the same now.

i wouldn't care which one was in my rig unless it was the 256MB version - in that case, only r360- can be flashed to a "true" 'xt'.

to xt "speeds" . . . . usually but not guaranteed for the later r350s

it is also not guaranteed for r360 ;)

ONLY the r360 r9800 256bit/256MB can flash to a "true" 9800xt.

i guess that is why 256mb/256bit is about 200 or more.

can every ati 9800 pro 128mb /256bit flash bios to xt or not?

I unfortunately ended up with a R350 core on 256MB version. However, it overclocks to 420mhz core and 370mhz mem stably. I dunno how this compares to R360 overclcoks.

The above will answer your EVERY question and some you haven't thought of . . . . STUDY it if you want to flash your pro.

it is a waste to flash a 128MB pro into xt (imo) ;)
