Hello all,

Heard this was the best place for
advice and help and I need both.
WHile playing Battlefield 2 for around
5-15 minutes the whole computer freezes.
I eventually to a hard reset or it resets it self.
I am getting no error messages except
occasionally the vpu recovery.
I tried switching from 8x to 4x but the problem still
happens it just takes it a bit longer.
I also upped the voltage from 1.5 to 1.6 my
computer did not like that at all either 4xor8x.

Thx
JW

Hmmm... It might be that the video card is overheating, does your 9800p have a temp sensor?

Heat would be my guess, drop the voltage to stock, make sure the fan works and isn't pluged up with dust.

The only way I can get it to stay stable is to drop down to 800x600
and run BF2 at lowest settings.

This card should run BF2 at least medium settings.
I ran HL2 & Far Cry at High. Even Doom 3
I think the card Just took a crap.

Is it the 256 ot 128 bit version? I have two 9800 Pro's sitting here, a 128mb 256bit which refuses to work with BF2, and the 256mb 256bit which works fine with BF2.
