Errr are you guys dumb? You get charged no trade i nprice, I've done this before. It's just badly written on the site.

Basically, you START an order from the trade in page. You get charged normal price with is $199 for a 128mb card. Add the coupon for 10% off and bamm, you are only charged $179. THEN you send in your vid card. After they recieve it, you will get a credit back onto the card you made the purchase with in 5 days or less for $50. This will work for ANY CARD, REGARDLESS OF WHAT TYPE OR CONDITION! I suggest NOT sending in a 6800 ultra or something but some piece of crap, non working 4 MB card you might have laying around. If you don't, hit some used pc part store you have in town locally and pick something up from the big bargain been of doomed PC cards. You know the one I'm talking about. Full of nothing but NIC's, sound, video, and whatever else that gets thrown in there. Should be right next to some big box full of plugs or cables.

Anyhow, Find something, ANYTHING and send it in to the address they give you. This is faster and more reliable then any rebate and well worth the effort. You don't even have to worry about packing the card good.

So basically, you get a brand new 9800 pro card for $129 with no taxes and no shipping (except to mail your card in and you can send that the cheapest possible shipping method you can use).

in the words of Chris Tucker... this is HOT HOT HOT!

Jsut wondering about ordering throught the trade-in page, I didn't so will that affect my order? I just went through the link to their products page and ordered and will print the trade-in forms.

SWEET! Makes up for not getting in on the outpost AIW9800 deal.

I knew I had the old Trident 2MB PCI card lying around for SOME reason. 🙂

I was wonder what would happen if your card has been backordered. Do you still have to send in your old video card within 20 days of your order? Or is it 20 days after your order has shipped?

Geeez........how hard is it to read people?

Go to ATI's main page, mouse over the upper nav. bar on products, clcik on the trade-up link.....takes you to THIS PAGE.

Look at the second product in the first section, the one marked RADEON Product Line......lo and behold, it's a RADEON 9800 PRO 128MB AGP card at ..... GASP...... $199.

Note that $199 is the "trade-in" price. Kthx.

Yep.....and of course you cannot READ a damned thing........it's the PRICE YOU'RE GETTING CHARGED BEFORE GETTING YOUR TRADE-UP REFUND!!!!!!!

What a bunch of clowns are shop.ait.com! I told my co-worker that I ordered a nice card for her only to read the email from ATI this morning that it's backordered. But if you go to the web site, it still says In Stock! In a few weeks the prices will drop even more, and the 6600 will come out. This is a good deal NOW, but not sometime in the future when they decide to ship you your card.

I just talked to a customer rep. and he said that the $50 will be deducted off the $199... BUT.... you cannot combine 2 coupons together.... so if you add the 10% coupon then you WILL NOT recieve the $50 trade in program. That is what a customer rep told me.

so i guess its one or the other...... the $50 sounds better then the 10% off at this point... Try this deal out at your own risk i guess...

I'm just telling you what the page says. If you don't agree or dislike what it says, that's fine. There was no arguement. And you should try to refrain from namecalling. It only brings to light insecurities you have about yourself, and your statement.

Well, nowhere on the order did it say you couldn't use the 10%off and then do the trade-up credit. If they won't go through on it, then they are going to have a LONG talk w/ AMEX. I'll let the CC company do the hard work for me.

That's the legal jargon that lets them back out of it if they find out they have made a pricing error.

They may just nuke all our orders and quote that. Hope not.

From the FAQ...

04. How much will my credit card be charged when I order a product being offered via the Trade-up program and how much is the security deposit?
Your card will be charged the full price, plus shipping charges and applicable taxes (applicable taxes for Canadian residents only) when we ship your new ATI board to you. Your credit card will be credited the security deposit (plus applicable taxes for Canadian residents only) once we have received your old graphics board with the ATI Trade Up Credit Form within 20 business days.

The wording is confusing... this makes it sound like you're charged the $50 "security deposit" which is returned after they receive your old card. The question is, is the "full price" $199 or $249?

Right now the full price is $250. That sucks. I decided to make up my mind, and now it says out of stock and the price in the shopping cart for the 9800 pro is $250. An hour ago it said $200, but not now. Man, I missed out on that deal 🙁 I better at least be in for my 200 gig seagate deal before the rebate expires.

I was going to hop on this deal... but they added tax to my order... so im not hoppin on this deal anymore.... is ati located in texas?

They can say that but nowhere does it say that the $50 rebate is not valid with other offers or discounts. ATI can't legally change the terms after the fact. That's called bait and switch and is illegal.

Also the $199+$50 trade-in price is old info from the website that was not updated to reflect the new $199 sale price. That was from when the card was priced at $249. It doesn't apply if you purchased at $199/$179.

it was $199 without any trade up last night, they did up the price to $249 this morning/ noon

so people who got it anytime before they up the price to $249 and eligible for tradeup got the card for $129-$149 depend if coupon was applied.

well, some people got the card for $179 already without trading in yet. if they did take their trade in, they would be gettin a good deal.

yes, i did read the term and decide its not a good deal, but some people actually gotten it for $179 without trade up. then i decide to hop on, but it was too late, they already up the price for $249

i don't know if they going to disqualify you for the $50 credit if you get it for less then $249

It won't. The rebate form says all you need to do is buy a new card and send an old one in. The terms are very clear. They say nothing about having to pay $249 to be eligible or that the rebate is not valid with other discount offers. ATI is legally obligated to pay up.

Good luck for those who ordered and hope it works. By not working I meant that the prices for the trade up cards other than the 9600XT AIW were the same in the shop as the trade up program prices. Meaning the prices in the shop and the prices on the trade up page weren't matching. But they seemed to have changed the shop prices back now :/

Sounds to be like ATI confused themselves with their own deal! They probably intended to lower the total cost to $200, but forgot how they had designed the pricing scheme.

I don't know how they could possibly pull a "sold-out" card on you guys, but I will bet they will try to pull some extreme shenanigans and be exceptionally picky on the cards traded in.
