ATI 9800 AIW or X600 AIW??

hey,

putting together a new rig and it has to have video capablity such as S-Video in. i've been going back and forth between these two cards--one being the new PCI Express and the other towing the line with AGP. of course this will determin the board i get, etc. your thoughts...suggestions?

I agree with viper. Since you are building a new rig, you should go with a new solution. Also, you could always just get a capture card. You don't HAVE to get an AIW.
 
The 9800 is much faster gaming card. The AIW x600 uses a new tuner, new breakout boxes and supports dual head + TV output. Think 9600 for gaming performance.

They both use the same Theater200 VIVO chip, so I would expect Video input and output qulity to be similar.
