ATI 9600 Pro vs Visiontek 9500 Pro

ok, here is the deal. i can get either an ATI 9600 Pro for $130 or a Visiontek 9500 Pro for $127. from what i think i know... the built by ATI boards seem to be more desirable (i don't know if this is true, and if so, why it is). however, i also think i know that the 9500 pro is slightly faster then the 9600 pro. so in this scenerio... what would you guys recommend?

Retail BB ATI cards come with a 3 year warranty as opposed to usually 1 year by the other manufacturers.

The lowest priced 9600pro I?ve seen so far is for $145. The models under that are usually 9600pro ? ?EZ? or ?Lite? ? versions clocked 400/200 DDR instead of 400/300 DDR. $130 for a retail ATI 9600pro ?sounds? like a really good deal. Where is this 9600pro?

See my post in this thread regarding 9600/9500 performance ? link ?

The Visiontek 9500 Pro has a lifetime warranty. According to the ATI site the part number on my Visiontek corresponds to a built by ATI card.

The 9500 Pro is simply faster than a 9600 Pro in almost all situations, and Vtek offers a lifetime warranty on their cards. The choice is clear, IMO.

Only on a retail ATI card. I doubt Visiontek's card is locked.

Spanky. I'll be waiting for your SMS/call. 😀

I'm running that same Visiontek card in my main rig and love it.
It can overclock but the memory chips get very hot.
I have heatsinks coming soon so I can get a proper OC.
