i have this card on a P4 2.4HT (800 MHz FSB) with 1gb ram at 333MHz dual channel. i ran the 3dmark test and got a score of ~3500. can someone tell me whether this is a good score. how does this card compare with 9200 or other geforece fx-5200 or other cards?

also how much of a difference will a 400Mz RAM make?

aida32 reports for the memory are:
read: ~3700 MB/s
write: ~1200 MB/s

Don't even compare a 9600 pro with a 9200 or fx5200. There is no comparison. A 9200 isn't dx9, so using a dx9 benchmark is not fair. And the fx5200 gets destroyed by 3dmark03. It might score 1k.

3500 is a good score for a 9600 Pro.

Why don't you just check Anandtech's recent reviews of the 5700U or 9600XT and see for yourself? They both include a 5600U and 9600P.

The 9600 Pro is a great card, awesome performance, and has almost no performance drop if you enable AA/AF.

It is a great card and overclocks quite a bit, but like any card, you definately WILL see a drop with AA/AF enabled. Just less drop than some cards like the Ti4200/4600.
