I want to upgrade 3 of the PC's my family have. I have been getting conflicting stories about compatibility.

The 3 motherboards I want to get new video cards for are, Asus P3B-f, Asus CUSL2, and Soyo SY-6BA+IV.

I would like to get ATI 8500 or 7500 or Geforce 3 TI200.

I would appreciate it if members who have successfully used any of these cards with these MBs would let me know their results.

I have been told that 2.0 Compliant cards will not work on 1.0 Compliant motherboards. The specs on the MFG web sites are not clear as they say you need a 2X AGP slot which all of these boards have I believe.

All replies will be greatly appreciated.

I have used a 8500 in a P5A before, which is a super 7 asus board, it works fine. I know all ATI cards work very well in older systems.

I would go in this order if price is not a concern

8500
GF3 Ti200
7500

You really shouldn't have any problems with the mobos ...the cards are pretty much backwards compatable from what I know. Both AsusTEK and Soyo are good board mfrs also...I doubt you will have any probs.

I personlly would have an 8500 right now but I dont have the cash....

I would stick to the ATI cards. I have also used them in older systems, and they seamed to work just fine.
