ATI 8500 DV or ATI 8500 + TV Wonder

I want to get a new vid card, particularly the ATI 8500, but I also want to have TV capabilities.

What are the advantagers of buying the ATI 8500 DV ($300) rather than an ATI 8500 ($140) and a TV Wonder ($63) ($205 together)
I got these prices off of www.pricewatch.com

If I recall correctly, some people around here have had no luck getting the TV Wonder to work with Windows XP.

I've got it running just fine.. except for the garbled screen upon running the TV app.. but I get around it.

The DV does have the tuner on a chip, while the wonder has the old tuner that all the other AIW cards has.

The DV is also clocked slower IIRC.

I've been contemplating the same thing, but I'm going to wait until the new versions come out later this month or in April supposedly.

well, if you're not gonna use the Firewire, the remote and breakout box, then go for the combo, since its cheaper.

a friend bought the wonder ve and was having problems(bought it two days ago at best buy for 30.00) getting it to work in xp
ati isn't even clear if they are going to support it in xp .
a google search brought up all kinds of he## and mad people but no complete cures .

his when hes running the tv if he opens up any apps or clicks on anything besides close it locks up or crashes the tv program then locks xp.

but he to has found that he can use it but carefully lol

i set his up in a dual boot 98se and xp pro and it works fine in 98se

hope this helps
