Excellent review with all the games they tested. Looks like the card to have at 1920x1200 and above.

Out of curiosity, could you tell me which of the 16 games in that graph make you think the 4870X2 is worth $100 more than the GTX280?

To me it looks like at 19X12 the performance is remarkably similar and for $100 less, no multi GPU issues, PhysX, CUDA, stereo some might dispute that the X2 is the card to have based on this review.

The X2 wins some, but it loses some as well, but what's interesting to me is the lack of "I need card A or card B" to play any of the games on that chart. Ironically, Lost Planet might be the only one.

4870X2's record @ 2560 Highest possible settings:

14 - 1 - 1

WINNAR. And i think it should be 16 - 0 because COD4 results look messed up and Kane is capped at 30fps for all cards for a tie.

Now, I have a 3007WFP-HC and game at 25X16, and so do you, but that's not what I asked.

MOST people don't game at 25X16, and for them, I see very little reason to spend $100 extra bucks based on that review.

EDIT:
I do agree for 25X16 I'd rather have a 4870X2 than a GTX280, at least until the stereo monitors launch.

gtx280 is still a great buy @ $385 [and fastest single gpu!!], and that 30" is only a dream over here. ;)

who makes fastest gpu should be less important when lucid gets on mobos. I'd still call the 4870x2 winner at 1900 because then you can turn on the 4xAA & 8xAA and still have great framerates

Nah, the GTX 260 and GTX 260 Core 216 (Overclocked) are still much better buys than a GTX 280. And they use less power.

WIC, Crysis, Call of Juerez, Lost Planet

X2 wins almost all and GTX win 3 games.

Crysis is more manageable on very high settings than GTX for sure. Not to mention better AA support and can easily push 8xAA or higher instead of 4x and 8x on the gtx.
