ATI 4800 Series to split CORE n' SHADER speed

My 3870 X2's shaders can not be overclocked without overclocking the core..."Shader and core freq. are tied" I could only overclock Core/Shader and Memory speed in 387 X2 but now with 4800 series i will be able to overclock Shaders at a diff. setting's than my core. Thus, getting better results!!! *I hope*

You've actually posted an information without any links, proofs to back it up. We might as well think that you've invented this.

Even if it is true I can't see "the great leap forward", since fine tuning the shader and core will only give you a couple of mhz in plus, so the performance will not increase dramatically opposed to linked core-shaders.

Assuming it is accurate, that might depend. There could be Synch issues introduced by adjusting specific things that negate any benefit.
