A little lower?

The core should be 625Mhz, its displays 125Mhz difference?

The newer Ati cards automatically downclock when not running 3D apps, so it's normal.

Nope, as soon as he leaves 3d mode, it'll clock back down to 2d mode clocks thanks to ATI's overdrive POS, I disabled it when I was overclocking my X1800XT and X1900XT.

If you don't plan on overclocking I guess you can leave it alone, but if you do overclock and change the voltage, I highly suggest turning off overdrive.

There's no reason to disable it unless you're overclocking. I mean, why should the card be running at full steam when it's just dragging windows across the screen? If anything, I wouldnt mind if it even downclocked to 200mhz, as you still wouldnt notice any difference in 2d mode.

It's working fine - that's the ATI drivers doing their job. Freaked me out at first too, but those are the 2d clocks (500/600). Once you open any game it will automatically jump up to the 3d clocks or the overclocked 3d clocks you set in CCC (or a third party program).
