Wow... I didn't have any troubles with CompuVest when I ordered my Diamond V550 TNT2 card from them last year. I wished shipping would have been quicker since I was still recovering from my jaw surgery, but yeah...

I just ordered some Radeon 7200 DDR 64 Meg cards ($35) and some Kyro II 64 Meg Retail Box Cards ($29) from Compuvest. They shipped the day after I ordered and came UPS ground. Got what I ordered on the Kyro cards, and the Radeon's were new, but pulls (as in you could see the screw mark on top of the card, but no dust in the HS/fan). All are ok, so I can't complain. Looking at resellerratings though, if you have a problem, that's where the trouble begins.

I just received the Radeon AIW and its going back. The fan has a thick coating of fur. The thing is obviously used, though they didn't say anything about it on their web page. Also, it won't accept a normal co-ax antenna cable. The decscription gave me the impression that only the TV out was PAL and that the rest would be OK with NTSC, but now I suspect that it wouldn't work at all with Ami TV. Serves me right for ordering without waiting a few days for more input from fellow ATers.

i received the AIW with the cables. it's obviously not new, but it works fine. definitely would not have ordered from them if had checked the reseller ratings first.

Well, looks like this one is a dead issue. Thanks (and commiseration) to those who alerted us to the, shall we say, less than stellar performance of this vendor. :|

I am still in the market for a not-too-expensive video capture card if anyone knows of one. Will accept one with a tuner, but don't really need it. Looking mainly to copy VHS to CD-R and rip/record DVDs to CD-R.

Will be used on a ECS K7S5A/Duron 1gig machine in an Enermax case/300W PS.

Suggestions welcome. [guess this really belongs on 'IWANNA', but seems to fit here...]

For those who ordered and received their card...

Did you receive the Rage 128 PRO card (only 32mb RAM) or just the Rage 128 card (can have 16mb or 32mb)?

I noticed that the title in the item linked on this thread is labeled as a "ATI 16MB ALL-IN-WONDER 128 PRO". There isn't an AIW128 PRO card that only has 16mb of RAM according to ATI's website.

Anyone out there that can help clarify?

Dell was including 16MB Rage 128 PRO cards in thier systems for awhile (I've got one). ATI is only going to list boards they sell to the normal channels. "Special" designs are supported by the vendor that requests them. Intel does the same thing with motherboards for big customers (they'll make it to whatever price point you want if you're buying 100,000 of them 🙂
