AthlonXP unlocking failure?

I unlocked my Athlon XP 1600 and was able to get 2000 @ 166 FSB (multiplier 10) with no voltage increases on my Epox 8k3a, just like everybody else with this core. I had the full range of multipliers open to me .

Everything worked fine for about 2 week. Temps were fine (around 50 idle, 62 load). Now my computer boots at 1700 with the same multiplier. I played with the multipliers but, with a 166 FSB, was only able to get 1400, 1500, and 2200 (locks computer).

I haven't had any weird program errors or anything. Does this mean something went wrong with my unlocking job and I need to redo it or did I mess up my CPU?

Thanks

its almost impossible to damage your cpu with the unlocking that we have .....conductive paint/rear window defogger repair......ect.....about the only way to damage your cpu would be voltage......or taking the top layer of the chip when cleaning to vigorously ........ would seem your unlock job is slipping.......try cleaning it alittle.......if not fixed you may have to redo the unlock......
