Alrite, well, I'm posting this because I'm considering going SMP with AthlonXPs. From some of the reviews on the net, some boards will work the XP processors and some others will not. I'm trying to get a gauge as to which will work and which won't, but I am positive the 2x XP processors I have will work in SMP (bought them last year). The two boards I am considering are the Iwill MPX and MSI K7D (newer, 6105-030). Anyone have any experience with these boards with XP processors? I'm basically going to be running Win2k and Linux with these, for mainly DV (at this point), some gaming and general, desktop use.

Also, how much of a performance increase would I get if I get a 64bit/66mhz SCSI card? I'd really like to get one, for the increase in performance for the AV.

I am running the Asus MPX board with 2 1Ghz Durons right now. You can use Xp's as long as one of the bridges is conneted. But you can't run XP's higher than 2100+ if I remember correct.

Go to Amdmb.com and look up those boards in the forums. That is where I got alot of my info.

The 64but/66Mhz will help a SCSI card as it will give it more bandwidth to the ram and Cpu. But the Dual CPU chipset is NOT a good gaming machine. It will do fine but is a little slower than a KT266a or higher chipset. But I still play games with a DDR Radeon.
