Why is it that when this AthlonXP I have is clocked at 2.25GHz it is not recognized as an AthlonXP anymore. That bothers me more than it not being recognized as an AthlonXP 2800+.

Why doesn't the Epox 8RDA+ see it as an AthlonXP 2800+?

do you have the latest bios ??
other than just being a reporting mistake it won't affect performance

Yep, I loaded the March 5th 8RDA+ BIOS the day after I got the board. I would have thought that BIOS code would have chips that old updated in it.

Are you running at 166FSB? My motherboard, the Giga-Byte 7VAXP, doesn't recognize AthlonXP as "XP" when using 166FSB, and neither does Windows. Just says "1.65ghz AMD Athlon"

No, the FSB is 195MHz. It sees the chip as 2400+, 2600+, and even 2700+ when I select various FSB/Mult. combinations, the 2.25GHz is the only one that is not seen as an AthlonXP chip. I emailed Epox Tech Support, maybe they'll be including the name string for a 2800+ soon.
