Athlon XP1.8..safe speed?(SOLTEK ocing question)

I pickup a new SOLTEK Purp ray board and a XP1.8 chip, i'm wondering what would be a safe speed to run at with having a Full Tower, with 4 fans and a plain Volcano fan on the CPU?

Also, this is my first SOLTEK board, i've always gotten Abit boards with the Bios OCing...this board comes with its own OCing device, something called "RedStorm".

Can anyone with this board explain how this system works? Harder, easier than FSB setings in the bios, etc?

What do you mean by XP1.8 chip? Do you mean the XP1800+? You do understand that the 1800+ does not mean that the chip runs at 1.8GHz. Instead it runs at 1533MHz.

original volcano? like the first one? i wouldnt use that on an xp, even if its approved.

red storm just ups the fsb until it cant no more and it will restart with the fastest stable setting acheived.

I just got the new Soltek Purp Ray V5 also with a XP 1700+.

Does anyone know if raising the default voltage influences the RedStorm process?

Everything affects it i think, it just tests how high it can go until computer wont respond, and sets it to a few mhz under that.

you should be able to get the fsb up to 140-142mhz at least..... BUT WATCH YOUR CPU TEMPS. keep it under 110F
