Go to Toms Hardware, gives you a step by step to unlock that bad boy to XP 2000+ with benchmarks too.

Nifty!

Edit: This is awesome! Finally a good way to oc this bad boy! This decides what board and cpu I'm getting. One thing though. I think crazyglue gel might work better in filling the ridges, I figure thicker consistency would mean it'd be less likely to leak past the tape. Wonder if radio shack sells silver laquer...

Tom's Hardware is just regurgitating old news. I'm kinda getting tired of that site. Not only do they knock Athlon's in regards to stability, I swear they have a hard-on for Intel. I read up until the part about how the organic packaging is being used to deter overclockers. What a load of BS. Also, they disregard any kind of FSB OCing b/c it will make components unstable! LoL...their credibility flew out the window a few months ago. The article might give new readers the impression that Athlons aren't good overclockers b/c they are limited to multiplier OCs and that they are unstable when trying to OC your FSB. Not to mention people might think the only way to OC is through this unnecessarily complicated method of unlocking.

I think this article is a lot more efficient and you don't have to wade through all the BS that Tom's puts you through:

Better Method to Unlock

As for conductive grease or paint, they are expensive and hard to find. Rear window defogger kits from your local Pep Boys or Trak Auto work just fine.

Chizow I tend to disagree with you. I have an IBM deathstar 75gxp in my system and word lately has been that oc'ing the fsb will accelerate the death of this piece of crap drive. This means I'm going to be limited to mostly multiplier overclocking. Vr-zone's method isn't any better or worse than toms hardware's method.
Admittedly the trick will be to find this silver laquer. :/ Will have to research that some.

You dont necessarily need to get this silver grease/laquer, other solutions to connect the bridges include a Rear window defogger kit available at auto supply stores, or electrical trace repair kit. Might even be a cheaper solution as well.

Holy cow! The silver laquer is EXPENSIVE! $172.95 for a 1/4lb jar. Think I'll be looking at the alternatives Colt Steele mentioned.

Actually, the method VR-Zone suggested is reversible, which gives your a larger margin of error. One thing though, make sure the bridge surface is free from dust, otherwise, the silicone compound make become conductive.

That does seem a better way to do it and easier to read than Tom's....... thanks for the link!
