Athlon xp to mp conversion unstable.

The chips, 2ghz, are running at 45/50 deg *that's w/ silver compound on a thermalrght 7 and those pleasantly loud tornado fans.

I've got the Fortron P530XF530W PSU going into a Gigabyte GA-7DPXDW-P.

Lacquered the chips with a rear windshield defogger repair kit I got at AutoZone.

I get random lock-up restart after about 12-36hours of tasking, 4-12 if Iâ??m running StarWarsGalaxies *though it's probably a stability bug on there end*

My real concern is that on some re-boots it registers as a single CPU system, if I leave it off for a few hours and start again it re-registers as a dual.

I've checked and double checked the lacquer job.

If it isnt always showing up as MPs then the L5 mod was not done properly on at least one CPU. Test them one at a time to determine which one it is and redo that chip. It took me about 5 times to get one of my CPUs to take the mod correctly. Also, is this a barton or t-bred and what kind of packaging is the chip in? Did you have to scrape between the contacts before applying the conductive material? Also, did you clean the surface before applying?

Well, I didn't want to take chances so I actually bought a silver conductive pen from directron and used that. Even that didn't take every time either. Also as far as packaging, do your chips have the flat green packaging or the bumpy circuit looking green packaging. Take a look at some unlocking to see what I mean as it changes the process of unlocking them. I ended up having to scrape a bit to get a good mod.
