Do you think I do this using any of these HSF? they are all cheap, say up to 3400+, and they have low dBA...will these do the job?

Cooler Master XDream II (CFM= 31.4 - 62.8, dBA= 24)

SPEEZE CPU Cooler (CFM= 37.87, dBA= 26.5)

Spire WhisperRock IV (CFM= 28, dBA=21.1)

Thermaltake "Volcano 7+" (CFM=49, dBA= 24/35/47)

I would chose the 35W version as it should have more overclock room than the 45W one. And about the coolers : if you want an inexpensive version go for the Cooler Master XDream III (not II) (I think you should seriously consider the Thermalright SI-97 as it should be launched pretty soon and it is a very good cooler).

go with either the 35w 2400+ or the 45w 2600+. the lower the wattage, the lower the voltage, and so the more room you have to raise it in overclocking.

I'm running the 45W with the same the same Cooler Master XDream II you listed overclocked to 216x11=2377 @ will do 2400mhz with more volt but I like to keep it around 2377. The cooler master is a decent "affordable" cooler and the stock fan mount will hold just about any 80mm fan so you could run it cooler if you don't mind the noise. I would have bought the 35w had the price been the same.

to be totally honest I would just go with a semperon 3100

4 or so mounths ago the mobiles were all the rage because they were cheap and A64's were expensive. but now you can get a semperon and bump it fairly easily to 2.2ghz anf blow away a mobile, and prolly can get it too 2.4 with some luck.

in my mind its worth the 50 extra dollars.

The Sempron is a bit too expensive, as you can see I'm on a budget...so I will go with the 35W XP-M2400+...

get a zalman cnps700cu cooler VERY quiet and my system gets 45-46 at load "see my sig".
the lower the power rating on a CPU the more efficiently it will do the same work.
instead of looking at it as a model number I look at it as a %= mobile Barton
They are all the same core so I have a 35 watt mobile Barton.
I purchased a 35 watt 2000xp that will do 2.4 ghz the same as my 2600 35 watt.
so get the lowest wattage Barton you can find and it WILL do 2.4 ghz stable on a good board with good ram.
