ok i have received my new processor. xp1800+ but my mother board is still on its way. all that crunching power sitting on my desk with no mobo. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH😕
 
Believe me when I say I understand, I have a 8KHA+ sitting here waiting for a 1700+ from Googlegear. Not scheduled for delivery till Thursday.🙁

Guess we'll have to just dream about our stats till then..... 🙂

heh I know how ya feel. When the TBirds were first released I immediately bought a 700. And then had it sitting on my desk for 3 weeks while I waited for a motherboard to be released that I liked. 🙂

I had a friend once who thought he was like a super computer genius and stuck a K6-2 in a p3 motherboard he had bought for his computer and fried both the motherboard and cpu.
 
BTW, don't let those XP1700s fool you - they're not all loners.. some of them actually like to work together in small groups, like the 2 on my TigerMP board. 😀

Yes, I talk to my computers and they love me for it.. sort of like plants. :Q 😀
 
Sounds like we need to get two guys together in this thread and get a computer cranked up. 😉

I have an ECS K7S5A with an AthlonXP 1600+ sitting on my desk in front of me for my dad's next computer upgrade. He might not be able to pay for the other components for another week or so and until then the mobo and cpu are stuck just sitting on my desk.
 
I actually have a total of (3) XP1700+ chips here - (2) are in the above mentioned TigerMP board(1.03) and the other is in an ECS K7S5A for my gaming rig as well.

I'm slowly converting my fleet over to AMD.. I've got a pair 1.2GHz MPs in another TigerMP board, and a pair 1.2 GHz Tbirds, each in other boards as well. Love these AMD chips! 🙂

 
I've had a Gig of PC2100 DDR sitting at my house for a couple of months and no mobo to put it in! 🙁

I bought it when I heard memory prices were going to skyrocket. I'm glad I did - what was $59/512 MB from Mushkin is now $159 ! :Q
 
I've got a dual PII/PIII Slot-1 MB (66/100FSB) sitting here without CPUs and it's killing be. I have several 4.3 SCSI HDs waiting, vid card waiting, memory (as soon as Fedex delivers MrFluffy's DDR ram, I get his PC133 🙂), everything but CPUs. And it's bugging me big time. :Q

heh, no need to remind me, I've been thinking about it a LOT. I would prefer a bit faster CPUs, but nothing available in my price range as of yet, so I may go ahead on those and worry about upgrading later. Maybe at tax refund time. 😀

And I might as well, as a majority of the parts for it have come from you anyway NWM! 😉

i am waiting for my tyan dual 760mpx system with 2 1800+ cpus and a gig of ram that
i ordered a few weeks back. i also have a 64 bit 66 mhz
dual channel adaptec scsi raid controller that i will put 256 meg of ram on
2 10,000 rpm 73 gig scsi drives and
a 64bit 133mhz PCI-X intel gigabit ethernet card (bummer i can only
run it at 66 mhz with the 760mpx)
this should really scream. wonder how it will do under seti
with 2 cpus running.

its all delayed do to onboard USB problems.
well at least i am getting a usb 2.0 card out of the deal.
i wasnt going to be using usb in this machine anyways.
going to load open unix 8 on it.
so i can stick the usb 2.0 card in another machine
