Athlon XP Barton 2500+: Zalman CNPS6000 or Thermalright Sk-7?

I need to choose between these in about the next week. Please help. I have seen reviews placing the SK-7 as better but would like to draw on some of the experience around here too.

The SK7 will roast the 6000 for breakfast and spit it out. No competition at all. You can run a quiet fan like the stealth on the sk7 and it'd still cool far better than the 6000.

I have them both.

I'd go with the SK-7 also. I've tried a few Zalman HS and they just don't compare for cooling ability. They are quiet but that's about it. I have an all copper Zalman CNPS7000-Cu on my wife's P4 system and it keeps the cpu around 44C in a Lian-Li mini-tower case with adequate airflow (case temps around 33C).

Im running the sk7 and a ystech fan and it roxors.. my barton stays at 32c.

I have to agree I was running a AX-7 with a XP2100. Ran 44C-48C.
I just bought a Barton 2500@3200 with the SK-7 and runs 38C-43C.

I was going to go with the SLK-800. But from the reviews I seen it might of dropped 3C which I dont think it was worth the extra C for double the amount of money. I paid just under $20.00 for my SK-7 found it on sale!

The SK-7 will support 60, 74 or 80 mm fans. So, grab an 80 mm fan that suits your needs (high air flow for O/C'er or low flow for the noise conscious). Lots of fans to choose from. The Thermaltake Smartfan II is a good O/C fan, and a Panaflow low speed jobby is good for low noise.
