I have my AMD Athlon XP 3000+ 333 MHz FSB CPU o/ced to a 14x multiplier and a 190 mhz FSB with a 1.9 vcore and a Volcano 12 heatsink. Has anybody else gotten results like this? Is it normal or acceptable? I have a peltier on the way, what performance can I expect with that? I have calculated the approximate AMD Model for such a processor (based on the other Barton Speed and AMD ratings for those processors). You can see my calculations . here They are a bit messy, but you get the idea. According to that, the performance should be close to a 4000+. Even assuming 3700+ or 3800+, it's amazing. Anyone else confirm that this method of calculating is reliable?

It's not unheard of... but it's usually the mobile Bartons that get that high, not a regular desktop chip.

That's a great oc, stock on a 3000 is what? 2.166? Don't know if the trouble of a pelt will be worth it for ya though. If I were you I'd shoot for a higher fsb. Get a better ram/mobo if you need to but you could be running a much higher fsb with a NF2 or comparable mobo.

I have the Albatron KX18D PROII with an NForce2 chipset. See it on Newegg here. The stock on the 3000+ 333FSB is 2167MHz. Also, anybody agree with my method of determing future AMD models based on the clock speed?

XP 3000's have a 13x multiplier, not a 14x. So you're actually running yours at ~2470, which is still an awesome overclock for a desktop proc.

Unlocked multiplier, so it is 14x.

If you've got an unlocked multi, what in the world are you doing with it up at 14x?? Put that sucker at 12.5 or 13x, so you can get at least 205-210 fsb out of it.:D

I will try some more settings tomorrow, and report back. Also, is 1.9v too high? Will it damage anything longterm?

Probably not, but it's quite possible you'll shave a few years off of the lifespan of the processor. Usually, killing a cpu by overvolting it happens very fast after raising the vcore.

AMD's Model 10 processors (bartons) are rated up to .5v OVER stock... 1.65+.5=2.15v anything past that...youll more than likely kill it...then again killabee over on the hardforum has had his T-bred (yes I know different chip) at like 2.2v for the past 4 months or longer...and its still going strong
