I bought one of the green cored XP 1500+ and it does 1800+ (10*150) perfectly stable with default voltage and a hsf I got with a retail Duron 800. I'm guessing with a little voltage and good cooling I'll be at 2000+, all for $110. Not a bad investment.

sounds like AMD is binning them down again..........very good news for overclockers

Other than for the fun of it, why unlock the cpu if it's going to limit your fsb o/c? A higher fsb = better performance (except peeps that use cpu intensive progs)...

<< Damn I just received xp1700 from newegg but it was AGKGA, I really want AGOGA. Can I RMA it? >>

Did you buy an OEM or Retail? When did you order it?

<< They aren't obligated to give you an XP1700+ overclocable to XP2000+ speed and thats just the risk you take >>

Yup, you are absolutely right...well...will see how far i can push the AGKGA.

Thanks Jerboy.

so how far were you able to push it to?
Did you get Y or 4 (the first letter or number below the core stepping)?

<< so how far were you able to push it to? >>

My max stable setting = 140 *11 = 1540

<< Did you get Y or 4 (the first letter or number below the core stepping)? >>

I got a Y core..

I dont think is my memery problem coz i have crucial 2100 ddr and my mb is epox 8kha+

after unlocking my 1700 my max stable is 11.5x138=1590. i have the one thats browinish dont know what the stepping is forgot to look

Instead of upping the multiplier why not increase the FSB. It will give you much better performance at the same clock speed.
So try like 11x145.

A member at the overclockers.com forum has his XP 1500+ to a 2000+ level, I believe it's cooled with a Glaciator II hsf. I'm not sure of the stepping he has on it.

i tried upping the FSb to 145 bt the computer didnt really like that.🙁 as it is i have to have the core voltage at 1.87 and mem voltage at 2,8 to get it to run stable at 11.5x138

Well,,,I jumped into the wagon, hoping I would get AGOGA core, but no luck. I did, however, get the new green package.
Good news is, it's doing 1680mhz (11x152)@1.80v(it reads 1.84v though..) 🙂
Not too bad, eh?
Bad news is, I failed unlock the cpu. I did unlock one before using the superglue+defogger kit, but I've spent 4 hours without success this time.🙁
