Athlon XP 1600, 1700, or 1800?

I am selling my Athlon XP 1600 and wonder if I should get an XP 1600, 1700, or 1800. Or should I get an older Athlon or Duron and save a little cash? Or should I wait until the t-bred comes out? Any idea when the t-bred is gonna release? Thanks for any opinions

Why would you sell an XP1600 and just turn around and get a XP1600 again? Well the only reason I could come up with is that you are looking to get a chip with a different core.

I am selling my xp 1600 because somebody wants to buy my computer so they are getting my processor. How do I tell what core I have?

It is listed on the chip. You will see lots of words/numbers on there. If you post all those, someone can tell you what core you have.

I think the Throughbred is worth the wait. although I haven't kept up with the updates on those. Throughbred could be the P4 killer. I must wait for them to come out and have em reviewed. Anyone know when they're coming out?

<< Ok Minendo, I figured out that I have the AGKGA stepping. Is this better or worse than the AGOGA? >>

I believe AGKGA is a good stepping for overclocking. More like the AYHJA. 🙂

AGOGA stepping with a Y in at the start of the next line is supposed to be the mack-daddy of all XP cpu's😀! I would want to have an XP1600+ with these markings on the core, if I were looking for another cpu😉.

Throughbred could be the P4 killer

I believe that the XP 2000+ is already a P4 killer. At least most of the comparisons that I have seen tell that to be true. The Throughbred will have the same .13 micron core as the P4 Northwood, and will also have the usual AMD "horse power" behind it. I believe that the Throughbred will crush the P4 Northwood.

I am not just a Intel basher, as I own a P3 system. AMD is pure Muscle.....minus some of Intel's advanced instructions. That is the only downfall of the Athlon, Palomino, and Throughbred cores.

Sure I will get flamed by the Intel crowed here for this one.
