Pretty good price, but is there any reason to take this over the Brisbane 3600+ with R6:V other than the fact that it's retail boxed?

Brisbane is AMD's 65nm X2s. It's a nice chip, but it has a slightly lower cache speed.

man CPU and memory prices are getting crazy cheap. so much power can be had in a budget system now.

AMD wins in budget, Intel in performance. Most of us prefer the budget segment ;)
