Athlon Multipliers

Hey, I got an old via KT133 (not 133a) mobo. Its a cheapie with no BIOS support. Was wondering if I could run any of the newer 133Mhz bus athlons on it. The mobo officially supports mutlipiers up to 10. If I got a newer athlon with a multiplier of 12 (12*133=1.6gig=1900+XP) would it work ?????

I've seen some mobos in the past where even thought the bios doesn't recognize the new processors and report its speed properly at boot up ... the processor will still boot and run correctly. Any idea if this will work ?😕

you could run them on it, but like was said above you cant run them at 133mhz fsb

so if you were to install an xp1900+ (1.6ghz), it would run at 12x100 or 1.2ghz.... going by the PR rating it would be a xp1300+ 😀
