Athlon included hsf

On newegg they have a athlon 1700 oem for 117.00 but the retail is only 124.00. How are they ?? Obviously there are better and I plan on getting a Alpha hsf in the future but as a temporary (1-2 months) hsf, how are the results ?

The retail HSF is more than adequate for a non-overclocked cpu.

If you plan on doing any overclocking though, a better heatsink is a great investment.

Don't forget some arctic silver II !

<< Thanks, I dont plan on overclocking since the base speed is more then enough. >>

yeah, you'll be fine

but i *would* highly suggest you not use the stock "pad" that comes on the bottom of it. i would drop the 6 bucks on a tube of arctic silver from newegg and go to arcticsilver.com and follow their directions for how to apply it...it'll make that stock HSF perform even better.

but it's up to you
