Can someone give the me the chronological order of Athlon productions...getting really confused on Palamino, Thoroughbred a, b, Barton, etc.

thanks,
Mattlock

And which one is better etc and why?

Thunderbird, palamino, thoroughbred "a", thoroughbred "b", Barton (not yet released)

I think that's most of em, think I'm missing putting classic at the start but I'm not sure

T-bred "A" is better than palamino cuz it o/c better, runs cooler, etc.

"B" is better than "A" because they seems to o/c better yet again, some have 166 FSB standard.

Barton is mostly an unknown, but all will have 166FSB, possibly some will run at 200 FSB later.

Anyone feel free to add to this or correct me 😉

yup what rommelrommel said 🙂

just to add a little info...
there were a couple cores before the thunderbird, but they were slotA.
the first socketA athlon was the thunderbird, then next was the palomino. it was the first "athlonXP" with the thoroughbred A and B coming next (also both athlonXP) their wasn't supposed to be a thoroughbred B, but amd had problems getting the clock speed high enough on the thoroughbred so they made a slight revision to fix it, thats where the B version comes from
