Athlon/Duron question

If my motherboard says it will take up to a 1.3 Athlon, does that mean it can take a 1.3 Duron? Sorry, I don't know much about AMD's chips.
 
Yup, it should work just fine. As long as it supports the Duron's lower voltage, which it should. Just make sure you have the latest BIOS revision before you pop the new chip in.
 
Make sure your boad has a BIOS update that says something like "Palomino support" or "Morgan Support" or "XP support" etc but otherwise it'll work fine
