If you look at AMD's list of approved power supplies you will see many popular power supplies that are only approved under 1gig. The popular antec power supply that usually ships with their cases pp303x is 300 watts and approved my AMD but only to 1 gig. If you have a 1.2 athlon you must up to the 400watt pp-404x. One of the enlight 300watt power supplies(8254942) is only rated up 700mhz. I am not sure what the enlight 7237 case comes with but you don't want the 8254942.

Yes, whilst it is certainly true that some of the PSUs on the list will not take the 1.2GHz for a ride and consequantly arent rated for it, that doesnt mean that ALL the PSUs not rated for the 1.2GHz cant handle it. It could be that AMD simply hasnt tested them all for the higher speeds.

I would certainly use the AMD recommended list as a guide, but i wont ake it for gospel. Im more likely to take the word of someone on the board who is actually running a system similar to what i would be using the PSU fin.

For example, is anyone using the Enermax 330w whisper PSU ? :)
[EDIT] Cause thats gonna be my next PSU [/EDIT]

Gotta go with the previous post. The AMD approved list is obsolete and poorly updated, whatever the reasons.

If anybody has doubts, select "1200" and "SFX". If one of those will do the job, then I firmly believe that an Antec pp303x or 351 Enermax will too, and probably many unlisted others.

Sometimes you need to read between the lines....
