hey folks.. I've got a similar setup (see sig) .. OCZ VX gold PC4000 (DDR500)
the most I can get stable in Prime95 is 250x10 with my setup, cpu at 38C under load air cooled., 1.425V
I'm not positive I set the voltage right, however. I set the startup and cpu vid control to 1.425 and set the special voltage modulator to auto.
270x10 APPEARS to run ok, but will error out in prime95 within seconds!
Reading pablo's post, I'm afraid to venture past 1.425v!
Another thing, Ive found that my chip is more stable with higher FSB and lower multiplier vs. the other way around.. 250x10 is way more stable than 230x11... why is that?
If anyone has any tips on how to hit 2.8G I'm all ears!
