Athlon 64 temperature sensing methods...

I know the Athlon 64 has an on-die temp sensor, but are there motherboards out there that also use socket sensors for the socket 939? The reason I ask is because I can't seem to find sufficent info on the subject and it looks like it would be impossible to have a socket temp sensor with the 939 pins.
