From the look of it, seems like prices might already be in effect. The 3000+ has been around $163 for almost a week now at NewEgg. I've been hoping it would drop some more.

Here's another link to current pricing in lots of 1000 (boxed?) direct from the AMD site:
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Corpo...9,00.html?redir=CPPR01

One weird thing here is that there doesn't seem to be a differentiation between 939 and 754 processors in terms of pricing. Neither socket is explicitly metioned. For example, I assume the 2800+ is a 754, and the 3800+ is a 939, yet they are listed in the same column. Does this meant that sokcet 754 and 939 at equivalent ratings will now be identlcally priced?

The different sockets were never differentiated. the same rated CPU is sold from AMD at the same price. It is the retailers who are marking them up more because of the current demand for the 90nm 939 processors.

At least that is what is currently speculated. I don't KNOW that they are getting all 3200+ processors at the same price, but I would suspect it.

This suggests that the 90nm 939 prices will steadily drop in the coming month or two and become more equal to a S754 processor 200 MHz higher in speed.
