Preparing for a socket 754 build next month (unless there is some pressing technical reason to wait for socket 939 that I am unaware of, I'm not going to wait, since I always get mobos and CPU's together), I was wondering how stable people have found their setups to be and what they are running.

So,

1) What chipset?
2) MOBO?
3) RAM - brand and speed
4) Power supply - brand and wattage.

Oh, and in advance, I'm not accusing AMD of being unstable, much to the contrary, I love AMD chips but I've had bad luck with via systems before (remember the kt133?)

System is in my sig. The first month I was working out some issues (mostly video card-related though) but since then (January this year) it's been rock solid. I don't oc the cpu/mem, the video card is running xt speeds though. Anyway, no crashes in the last few months and I leave it on 24/7.

1&2) ASRock K8S8X (SiS755) If you don't overclock more than 10%, still the best performance; otherwise nForce3 250 for overclocking
3) Mushkin PC3500 Level II
4) SilenX iXtrema Pro 450W

(2) Aopen AK89MAX's which are Nforce 3 150's
(1)A64 3200+ Watercooled @ 2612 mhz
(1)A64 3000+ Retail H/S @ 2375 mhz

One rig uses BH-5 PC-3200 at 2,2,2,11 timings. 275 fsb @ 2.8 volts
One rig uses Corsair Value PC3200 @ 2.5,3,3,11 timings. 250 fsb @ 2.8volts

Each one uses a Radeon 9800 although ones is an XT and other is a pro.
Both in use 24/7 and run Folding@Home stable for over 42 days.

Both use a Thermaltake 480 psu

Your ram is the culrpit.. Either back the timings down or back off the FSB.
