Athlon 64 noob question

I just installed my GFs new athlon 64 2800+ and it is currently detected by the bios as 1800 mhz

it should be 2.2 ghz if i'm not mistaken, correct?

no, stock speed on the athlon 64 2800+ is 1.8GHz

i know the new rating scheme is extremely confusing, but it says right on the front of the box if you bought the retail version..

even stranger the athlon 64 3400+ 939 is running at 2.2GHz, while the athlon 64 3400+ 754 is running at 2.4GHz 😕

and one last thing.. if you have the right motherboard/cpu/cooling combo, this chip can do 2.2GHz easily 😀 (i have my 2800+ running at 2.25GHz currently)

ok, i just wanted to make sure that I didn't have to change anything.

So when my 3500+ (939) comes on monday it should be at 2.2?

Thanks guys, I've been out of the hardware arena for quite some time.

It will be nice to be able to play games again!
